As a retail business owner, having a streamlined supply chain is crucial for the efficiency and success of your business. This is especially important for those in the food and drinks, and beauty products industries as your products should be stored in a BRC food accredited storage facility and adhere to strict manufacturing and storage regulations. Choosing the right logistics and distribution companies to form your supply chain can be difficult for a business owner, as there are many moving parts in the process and various people to liaise with.

At Willmotts Transport, we have combined our investment in industry-leading technology and equipment along with our unique array of accreditations to provide a seamless, end-to-end supply chain solution for your retail, product-based business that will save you time and money. Our end-to-end supply chain system takes your products through the collection of raw materials from your suppliers, to liaising with your production facility, through to storage, handling, and distribution to your customers - whether it’s across the country or around the world.

1. Collection of raw goods throughout Europe

The first step of your end-to-end supply chain process with Willmotts Transport is communication with your raw material suppliers to collect your goods throughout Europe to be stored in our BRC food accredited storage facility ready for production. You can track the progress of your items via our online portal 24/7.

2. Smart storage of raw materials

After collecting your raw materials, they will be stored in our BRC food accredited storage facility until they are called in for production. An ISO accredited, reliable warehousing and storage facility is imperative for any retail, product-based business, but it is especially important for businesses in the food and beverage industry as food-grade products require specialised handling processes to ensure that cross-contamination is avoided and the utmost food safety standards are maintained.

3. Distribution to and from production

Once we are notified that your raw materials are ready for production, we liaise with your production facility or factory to deliver the raw goods in and out of production at precise intervals, taking the stress of managing this off your plate so you can focus on running your business.

4. Smart storage of finished goods

Once your finished products are ready post-production, we collect them from your production facility and they can then be stored in our warehouse ready for shipping and distribution to your customers or stockists. Using our innovative online warehouse management system, you have full traceability of your stock levels and key pieces of data, such as 'use by' dates - this is crucial data to have when managing your production runs and inventory. We can customise the data you wish to record with each of your production runs so you can have the most up-to-date information regarding your stock at your fingertips 24/7 via our online portal.

5. Pick and pack for order fulfilment

Using our online portal you can also remotely place orders. We will pick, pack and fulfil orders based on your requirements and deliver and distribute these to your customers, keeping you in the loop every step of the process.

6. Distribution of goods throughout Europe

Next, we deliver each order to your customers through either our pallet network or logistics fleet for orders throughout the UK and Europe. We can also arrange container shipments of goods to almost any location around the world.

For a growing company, an end-to-end supply chain is the best solution as the impact on performance and customer satisfaction is huge. An end-to-end supply chain has many benefits, including the ability to manage the production, storage, and distribution of your goods all in one place and have a full overview of the process. This also assures that if any delays occur in any stage of the process, it can be resolved quickly and with as little disruption and financial costs as possible.
