Logistics Coordinator

Willmotts Transport provides tailored logistics solutions for a wide range of warehousing and distribution requirements. We have an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Coordinator to join our Transport team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Senior Logistic Planners in their day to day work

  • Uploading jobs to our TMS system

  • Answering and dealing with incoming calls and taking messages for the relevant team members, ensuring all questions, queries or concerns are resolved in a timely and efficient manner and referring issues to the Senior Logistic Planners as required.

  • Main point of contact for key customers, providing exceptional customer service

  • Liaising with drivers allocating workload to make sure collections and deliveries are made on time and in full and ensuring a smooth operation

  • Conduct all duties in an effective safe manner ensuring that all aspects of Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality are complied with

  • Act as cover for across the department during holidays and unplanned absence

  • Undertaking driver inductions on driver documentation, customer specific documentation and requirements, overnight parking arrangements and PDA App management

You will need:

  • Good understanding of relevant driver legislation: Working Time Directive, Tachograph Legislation.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively

  • Experience within the Transport industry including freight planning and vehicle utilisation desirable, however full training will be provided

  • An understanding of differing modes of road transport

  • Ability to collaborate with serval operational departments within the business

  • A good IT understanding, including TMS input

  • Strong customer service level

  • Commitment to the business and industry

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work efficiently within a team and individually

Additional Details:

  • Salary £37,000 dependant on experience

  • This is a full-time position Monday to Friday 47.5 hours per week with a weekly shift pattern of 07:00 to 17:00, 08:00 to 18:00 and 10:00 to 19:00

  • On call 1 in every 3 weeks

  • Weekend cover 1 in every 3 weeks - with the requirement to be office based on the Saturday paid at additional rate of pay for each day and the following Tuesday as a day’s rest.
